The construction process

The construction process consists of 6 key steps. With our knowledge and experience we can guide you through concept to completion to build your vision within your budget.

Confirming your ideas

1. Concept

  • Working out what you want to achieve and why.
  • What is your budget and what are your priorities?
  • We can help facilitate who needs to be involved at this stage with you.
  • Discuss your ideas with us so we can help with cost estimations and build options.
Producing the plans

2. Design

  • Defining your scope of work and developing plans.
  • Confirming council requirements, ground testing, resource consent, and product choices.
  • We will work with you and the architects throughout the project to help with a practical approach and costing to achieve your goals.
Approach and quotation

3. Proposal

We will provide you with open and detailed quotation document. This involves:

  • Analysis of the plans to confirm all trades, materials and labour required.
  • Site visit with representatives from the trades to support their assessment/costing.
  • Project duration estimated and potential starting dates provided.
Confirming the start date

4. Plan

  • Agree the start date and develop a project schedule.
  • For larger jobs, the early phases of the schedule will be detailed in full, and later phases detailed out once construction is underway.
  • Health and safety considerations documented.
The work begins

5. Build

  • Construction underway, coordination and management of all trade work.
  • Management of variations to the plans and associated costs documented.
  • Coordination of all council and resource consent requirements.
  • Ongoing management of health and safety.
  • Weekly project updates provided to help keep track of the schedule and costs.
